Park Kodeljevo is currently recognisable sports ground in Ljubljana. It offers different indoor and outdoor sports activities including swimming, running, football, basketball, tennis and volleyball. The main advantage of the park is its location. It is situated next to hill Golovec, important natural and recreational space. Hill Golovec and park Kodeljevo are because of similar functional and visual features considered as an undivided spatial unit. The main design objective was to re-establish functional and visual connections between these two natural areas. The landscape design process began with the removal of non-functioning and vacant architectural objects, playgrounds, fences and parking lots. The main design features of the park are roof garden above bleachers on the western side of the park and wavy forest edge that reconnects park with Golovec. Forest edge creates clearings, that are designed for recreational and children sports activities like badminton, ball games and sleighing.
