Archaeological parks are public green areas, related to historical remnants. They represent archaeological remains and offer educational, cultural and entertaining activities. The idea of archaeological park Marof in Novo mesto is based on rich archaeological finds from the early Iron Age. Our proposal for the new park combines the archaeological program with public and recreational use. The concept of the park was inspired by Situla art, which is famous for its bas- reliefs on thin bronze sheets, that were used for decoration on bowls and plates. The art depicts everyday routine, entertainment and religious ceremonies from the Hallstadt period. Archaeological program of the park is similarly divided into three main units. The north-eastern side of the park represents everyday work and habits of Iron Age people. North-western side of the park displays religious space with burial mounds. Entertaining program is placed on the southern part of the park with amphitheatre and event space. Archaeological parks are public green areas, related to historical remnants.
